I learned of EZBOT because YouTube suggested I watch one of his Elektron meets Eurorack videos. I gave it a look and was immediately impressed by his abilities and delivery. Later YouTube suggested another EZBOT video. This time it was EZBOT teaching Red Means Recording how to Octatrack and it made me think “I wish I could get EZBOT to teach me Octatrack.” It turns out I could because he offered lessons. I dropped him a line and he got back to me immediately. And, just like that I had recurring lessons on the books.

Professionally, EZBOT was aces. He was punctual, prepared, and clearly liked teaching. My lessons ran like clockwork. I had only made electronic music in Eurorack so I was new to Elektron. My goals were to learn the devices and understand how they might fit into and extend my existing workflow. EZBOT had all of that covered, no problem.  

Artistically, he encouraged me to make music. When I had ideas, we talked about where they could go and how I might get there. Having someone with his knowledge and experience help remove the legwork to get closer to the goal was huge.

On a personal level, EZBOT is a good dude. It felt like I was talking to a friend with the same interests, one that did not mind I had just bought Elektron devices and brought them over to ask questions, many questions.

Teachers, mentors, coaches make all the difference. Find one in your area of interest and get going is among the best advice I could give someone. If you want help making electronic music happen, especially with an Elektron focus, I know you would find what you need in EZBOT.
